James H. Bean School Exploratory Program

This was a five-week exploratory program to generate interest in a FIRST Lego League team in the future at James H. Bean. Each week, ten 4th and 5th graders were challenged to solve a simple problem using the Lego Mindstorms Kit of Parts. They started with the simple task of building the fastest vehicle that runs only on the power of an elastic and finished by building a vehicle that will solve an obstacle course. This group was mentored by 2 members of FRC Team 2648 who provided programming guidance and building suggestions when the students needed help.
